Residential Project of the Year

Michelmores Property Awards

The first award nomintaion for our Barton Meadows site came from the Michelmore Property Awards 2018 for the Residential project of the Year (35 Units and Under)

It was a great honour to be nominated for thie 16th annual Michelmores Property Award and whilst on this occasion we were unsuccessful it was a priviledge to have our develeopment recognised alongside other leading develoipers for outstanding properties and construction projects in Devon, Somerset, Bristol, Dorest and Cornwall.

Emma Honey, Head of Real Estate at Michelmores, said :- "Once again, the standard of entries we received for this years's Property Awards was outstanding.  From a cutting edge nuclear training facility in Somerset to a residential development that rehabilitated military veterans through self-build training programme in construction skills, the range breadth of projects has been fantastic and has demonstrated the excellence of the property and construction sector in our region.  My congratulations go to all of our winners and to all those shortlisted."

The winners were announced at an Awards Dinner at the University of Exeter, hosted by comedian and actor Josh Widdecombe.

Devon Rural Housing

Best Rural Development of the year 2018

Our Barton Meadows development received the "Best Rural Development" at the Rural Housing Awards 2018.

The Devon Rural Housing Awards recognise excellence in rural housing delivery across the county. There are 2 categories which reward good design and outstanding commitment.  It is hoped that these awards will inspire other rural communities to get involved in a rural affordable housing scheme for their local people.

The award for Best Rural Development was awarded to the developer of the best rural development completed in Devon in the last 12 months and take's into account the standard of design, consideration of local vernacular and engagement with the local community.

The judges commented that this year’s nominations were the highest overall standard they'd ever had but the Thorverton scheme had a real ‘wow factor’ that made the difference. The judges felt that the development had a real sense of spaciousness and was designed and built to a very high standard. The many different bespoke styles used also gave it a distinctive look and the homes fitted in really well with the local architecture and design. The judges were also impressed by the high sustainable standards of the homes which is important for fuel bills and economy.

Simon Green, Managing Director from Westhaven Homes said;  "I am incredibly proud that our Barton Meadows development and site team are receiving the credit they so richly deserve.  We feel very honoured to receive the Best Rural Development Award.  Its been our first development with Liverty and we are delighted to receive this recognition"
